Traceur - Cyberpunk Parkour Experience

I created the game during my second long term student group project with a team of 11 members (1 Designer, 2 Artist and 8 Programmer), the team composition ratio was not optimum as there were some complication during the recruitment process. With my previous involvements in multiple game projects with different size and time frame, I am able to hand pick specific members and lay down the scheduling required to convince the team and lecturers.

Since I have a clear vision of the game, I was given the trust by my teammates to lead the game as the project lead and game designer. I was also given more freedom to help out on both art and tech side of the game as the design of the game was clear and well established just few weeks after production started. As a big fan of the futuristic sci-fi genre, I am able to express my perception on the world that I have in my mind via the aesthetic and music of the game. During this project, I am able to develop the following skills:

- Study and discover the essential of parkour

- Clear understanding on the core gameplay of parkour games

- Constructing design and management documentation

- Writing narrative and tutorial based monologue

- Design user interface for mobile game

- Make mechanic prototype in Stencyl

- Design a game website and produce a rough trailer

- Co design an original sound priority system

- Create 3D space level mockup in sketchup

- Design and build the levels in unity with gameplay and aesthetic intention

- Manage a mid size game development team

I was thrilled to lead the team until the full completion of the game and to receive praise for the overall artistic choice for the game world. The sound elements such as choice of music and voice acting was often mentioned by the player as it helps player immerse deeper into the game which elevated the overall player experiences
